• What is Zirconium?
It is a silvery white metal under room conditions which is never found alone as a free metal in nature. They can exist in many different compounds; Zirconium silicate (zirconia) is zirconium oxide (zirconia). The form used as crown and bridge infrastructure in dentistry is zirconia.
• Where to use?
For aesthetic reasons, advanced colorations that cannot be achieved by methods such as bleaching, treatment of hereditary structure colorations, restorations of teeth with deterioration of color and structure, loss of excess material, as a bridge or coating on posterior group teeth, and on the front group implant prosthesis and smile aesthetics.
• What Are Aesthetic Advantages?
Metals, which are the substructures of classical metal substructure porcelain restorations, cannot provide aesthetics adequately when the teeth cannot be cut sufficiently. This makes the teeth appear lifeless and artificial. Since the zirconia substructure is a white metal, the results are good.
• How is it compatible with dentistry?
It is a material compatible with tissue. In classical metal substructures, purplish discoloration of the gingiva seen in the neck region of the tooth as a result of the reflection of metal never occurs.
• How can I care?
It is no different from healthy teeth without restoration. Superfloss is used for floss and toothless areas. The physician checks regularly every 6 months and measures are taken for problems that may occur.
• How Long Can I Use?
Regular checks can be used for many years. However, a clear time cannot be given. Teeth are viable tissues, and over time, problems with underlying tooth tissue or restoration with zirconia substructure may occur over time.
• How to Apply?
As with conventional metal-backed coatings, the tooth is reduced to some extent and when the gum is in good health, a precise impression is taken with special impression materials and spoons suitable for the mouth. In laboratory environment, zirconia substructure and porcelain superstructure are processed to suit the tooth in clinical environment. Finally, it is permanently adapted to the tooth with special adhesives. Now you can easily use it without distinguishing from your own teeth.
• How Much Material Loss Does My Teeth Have During the Procedure?
Loss of material is higher than porcelain laminate. It is the same as classical metal supported porcelain restorations. A preparation of 1.5 - 2mm is made from your normal tooth surface.
• Can I Feel Pain During Procedures?
During the preparation under local anesthesia, no pain is felt outside the anesthesia. Then, a temporary tooth-colored coating is applied to prevent hot and cold tingling. Very few patients experience a slight tingling but generally complete the process without distress.
• Do I Have An Aesthetic Problem During Treatment?
Temporary crowns and bridges made of acrylic as materials are not resistant to force, but they will satisfy you sufficiently in terms of color harmony and shape.
• How long does the treatment result?
The procedure is completed in 1 week - 10 days in patients with gingival problems. Depending on the taste of the patient, a few rehearsals can be added until the physician and patient are satisfied with both sides.
• Can it be applied to patients with gum disease?
First of all, gum disease should be removed. When it is performed with appropriate cutting and bonding procedures after healing, it is very compatible with the gum in all respects and results that make the face of the patients laugh.
