Porcelain crowns and bridge restorations
This type of restoration is done to correct the loss of function, aesthetic and dental speech. In addition, it is aimed to improve the psychology of the patient by restoring the lost trust.
Like other organs in our body, our teeth are affected by the problems of time. With aging, the teeth are exposed to different degrees of fracture, crack discoloration, abrasion due to parafunctional disorders and gum diseases. At the same time accidents and caries, teeth lead to loss of substances. In such cases, the restorations we make to replace the lost tissues in the treatment of teeth are called crowns.
We use porcelain material for Vener restorations. Porcelains are restorations obtained by cooking ceramic powders at high temperatures. The baking process allows the ceramics to acquire enamel-like properties that form the outer part of the tooth, both in color and structure. Porcelain veneers can maintain their color and form stably for long years.
When are crown restorations performed?
- In teeth that have been overloaded due to caries, trauma or any other reason
- Teeth with color problems
- Deformed teeth
- To close the gaps between teeth
- In the presence of large fillings
What are the bridge restorations?
In cases where tooth loss occurs due to trauma, infection or any other reason, restorations made with the support of neighboring teeth are called bridge prostheses.
How are crown and bridge restorations performed?
We need to make a certain amount of preparations on the supporting teeth on both sides of the toothless cavity.
The restorative method we use determines the amount of this procedure.
After the preparation, the patient undergoes temporary restorations in order to maintain a normal life without leaving the clinic.
If the selected restoration is not to be made entirely of porcelain (empress), after the preparation, the crown is rehearsed at the first appointment (Cr-Co or zirconia), then
the most appropriate tooth color is selected considering the patient's wishes.
Our ceramic restorations are prepared and rehearsals are made on the measurements taken.
The restorations, which are evaluated by both the patient and the physician in terms of aesthetics and function, are adhered to the teeth with special cement.
