The aim of the treatment of jaw fractures is to ensure the interrelation of the teeth (occlusion) and to enable the patient to recover chewing and speech functions as soon as possible. Although different methods can be applied in the treatment, the aim is to bring the broken ends in front and fix them. For this purpose, methods such as fixing the lower and upper jaws made by using wires and shinings, fixing the lower and upper jaws with orthodontic brackets and fixing the broken line with mini-plates (titanium plates and screws) can be applied. Miniplates are advantageous for patient comfort, allowing the patient to begin chewing within a few days.
